The Selkirk Scholarship
Tim Coleman, the last recipient of the William Selkirk Scholarship, writes:
I have just came across your website about William Selkirk. I was the proud recipient of the last full William Selkirk Scholarship at the Royal School of Mines. Imperial College. I applied in 1995 to study for an MSc in Engineering Rock Mechanics at the RSM after breaking my leg badly in my penultimate year of undergraduate Mining Engineering at the RSM’s great rival The Camborne School of Mines.
I still have the handout I was given giving the history of the scholarship. I can scan and send you a copy if you would like to add to your archive.
I’m grateful to your great uncle for the endowment he left Imperial College and the scholarships that resulted. It is in some part due to him that I am now living with my family in beautiful British Columbia.
